In March the Senate and House passed an Anti-Trafficking Bill that resulted in Craigslist shutting down its Personals Section. It is known as FOSTA (HR-1865) and/or SESTA (97-2). I’m not a fan of enacting more legislation to limit our rights BUT this does close one hole (craigslist personals) for the Sex Sting operations and other questionable practices (e.g. prostitution). So, in the end this will be a GOOD thing. I suspect the backpage and other similar websites will tighten their reign and maybe close as well. Hopefully a few less “innocent” people will go to jail due to the aggressive pro-active ICAC investigations.

I’ve updated the 2018 sting section. We are already over 100 people arrested in Q1 of this year! It is shaping up to be a banner year for the ICAC investigators! Crazy. I always get a kick out of Peter’s Blog and comments on sting operations. He says watch out for key words and phrases and to “Just Say No” to minors. Do not get sucked in by curiosity which seems to happen quite often.
